About us
Fletcher Lodge was formed (Consecrated) on the 7th November 1864 taking its name from a renowned Birmingham Doctor and Surgeon, Dr Bell Fletcher (1806 – 1897). The emblem on the banner, as above, shows an arrow in a hand depicting the occupation of a Fletcher (maker of arrows).
The Lodge has a history of excellent masonic ritual which is always conducted in a supportive and inclusive manner so that all participants are able to enjoy and practice their masonry without undue pressure whilst providing the opportunity for younger members to learn and progress.
In addition to the regular meetings, Lodge members enjoy an active social calendar particularly during the summer recess. These include such activities as a day out at Warwick Races, Sunday Lunches, Summer BBQ, and other social events as arranged by the worshipful Master of the Lodge in his year. All of these are planned as mixed events where members and their wives/partners actively join in.
Why Join Us?
Fletcher Lodge is one the the older lodges in the Province and has members from a range of backgrounds and work sectors. Meeting at Knowle Masonic Centre which has excellent facilities and parking and is conveniently located near to Junction 5 of the M42. Meetings usually start a little later than most (6.15-6.30) allowing time for members to get to the lodge room without impacting too greatly on work commitments. Apart from regular meetings the lodge members also enjoy a number of social events with wives and partners.
Being a winter Lodge it leaves April to September largely clear for family and school holiday arrangements.
There is also a vibrant and growing Fletcher Royal Arch Chapter 1031 which also conveniently meets at Knowle, and a number of us in the Lodge are also members of Fletcher Chapter.
