About us
Coventry Foundation is a growing and thriving lodge with an increasingly international focus. Originally made from alumni from the ‘Foundation Schools’ of Coventry, we now have members from all over the world! Our members now proudly represent the UK, Azerbaijan, Romania, Cape Verde, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana, and Bulgaria.
Our Story
In St. Mary’s Hall, Coventry, on Saturday, October 13th 1923 at 3.45pm, Coventry Foundation Lodge No 4543 was Consecrated by The Right Worshipful Bro Col W F Wyley, Past Grand Deacon, Provincial Grand Master, and W Bro Arthur Wright, Past Master of St John’s Lodge No 2811 was installed as the very first Master.
The name Coventry Foundation is derived from the Foundation Schools of Coventry, Henry VIII and Bablake.
The First Regular Meeting was held over one hundred years ago at the Masonic Hall, Little Park Street, on the 22nd October 1923 and now meets six times a year on the fourth Monday of October through to March.
