About us
Seymour Lodge was founded at the close of the Victorian era and holds the distinction of being the first Freemasons’ Lodge formed in Redditch. The Lodge was consecrated on Wednesday, 14th November 1900, at the newly constructed Masonic Hall in Ipsley Street, Redditch. The contract for the Hall was signed on 25th July 1900, with construction completed by 30th September 1900 at a cost of £995 0s. 0d. At the time of its consecration, the Masonic Hall was situated within the County of Warwickshire. Accordingly, Seymour Lodge is a Warwickshire Lodge, notwithstanding the fact that it now meets in Redditch, Worcestershire.
The first Worshipful Master of Seymour Lodge was Lord Captain Ernest James Seymour, J.P., the third son of Francis Seymour, 5th Marquis of Hertford. The motto of Seymour Lodge is “Foy Pour Devour,” a motto also shared with the 151st Squadron of the Royal Air Force, who translate it as “Fidelity into Duty.” Regardless of variations in translation, the spirit of the motto is commonly understood within the Lodge as signifying “Success through Endeavour.”

Social events include
An annual “Ladies Evening” held in October to honour our wives/partners. This is a “Black Tie” event; a three course meal is served followed by some formal toasts and then dancing to a D.J. or live band.
An annual BBQ where the brethren and families can socialise in a relaxed atmosphere. A bouncy castle is hired for the children.
Skittles and Quiz nights
A meeting where our Ladies are invited to dine.
A white table evening where members can invite their friend who might be interested in freemasonry
