About us
Brief Description of the Lodge
The Lodge was formed in 1964,and we currently have 23 Subscribing Members.
Our Membership covers a diverse range of backgrounds and occupations, including accountancy, information technology, teaching, nursing, social care, pharmacy, civil and mechanical engineering, building construction, and industrial cleaning.
We are an active Lodge, and take pride in the quality of our ritual, and the pursuit of our Masonic Ideals, whilst at the same time aiming to live up to our name by being Happy, and enjoying the fellowship of like minded men, through all our meetings and activities.
As well as our ongoing support for a wide range of Masonic and non Masonic Charities, we care greatly about the welfare of our Brethren and their Families, and this further reinforces the firm bond of friendship and mutual support which exists within our Lodge.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal Candidate is someone who is open minded and inquisitive about Freemasonry, and in growing themselves as a person, but also someone who would like to build a wide circle of friends, and positively contribute to the work of our Lodge, and the wider community.

In The Lodge of Happiness, we take pride in aspiring to actively support the central Masonic principles of Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity, whilst at the same time living up to our name by aiming to have fun and fellowship and enjoying our Masonic activities.
At the same time, we are serious about maintaining and delivering a high standard of ritual, by the proactive development and encouragement of our Brethren, through their understanding of that ritual and their respective roles in the Lodge.
We recognise that what Brethren get out of their Masonic activities, is amply rewarded in proportion to the effort they put in, and it is a constant source of collective pleasure to witness the fulfilment that Brethren gain from their active participation in our Ceremonies and other Masonic activities, including our social events and charitable initiatives.
We welcome and positively celebrate the diversity of our membership, irrespective of age, race, creed and sexuality and, in recognition of the fact that our younger Brethren will be responsible for the ongoing vitality and future success of our Lodge, we positively support their Masonic development, and actively embrace their views and ideas on the way forward.
We are keen to hear from men who wish to become Freemasons, and they can be assured of a warm welcome. We take great care to inform prospective members of what is involved in joining our Lodge, and encourage them to get to know us through our various social functions and Prospective Candidates Evenings.
