About us

Knowle Lodge was consecrated at the Edgbaston Assembly rooms, in Birmingham on 26th May 1965. The first regular meeting was held held at the Red Lion pub in Knowle Village in October 1965.
We now meet at Knowle Masonic Hall, 1621 Warwick Road, Knowle. The rooms are modern, beautifully furnished and renown across the Province for its catering and facilities.

We have a busy social calendar with a Ladies Evening every year as well as our summer ‘picnic on the lawn’ and a number of  different social get-togethers that look to involve wives and partners as much as possible. A highlight of the year is our Burns Night, which regularly attracts 80+ members and visitors to enjoy the Address to the Haggis by our resident Robert Burns expert – W Bro Greig Young.

The week before our regular meeting, we hold a rehearsal of the ceremony we are performing that month or, if we have no ceremony, we will hold a Lodge of Instruction, to help our newer members start to get used Masonic traditions.

After each meeting we also have a meeting for Past Masters and Lodge officers to review the Lodge work and make plans for the future, these are usually held at Knowle but can use the facilities at Knowle to allow members to join in virtually by Zoom.

Why Join Us?

There is a warm feeling in the Lodge and everyone is made welcome. We pride ourselves on the level of ritual that we deliver but humour is an important part of the Lodge and whilst we take meetings seriously, we pride ourselves on the convivial and enjoyable aspect of the festive board ( meal) afterwards. We raise a lot of money for a variety of charities. All new members are mentored with the candidates proposer working with the lodge mentors to support each brother.
