About us
As a newer lodge in Warwickshire, we decided from our foundation to offer a less fussy, more cost-effective and more personal approach to freemasonry. Our membership is intended to be younger – supported by the more experienced Founders of the lodge who are available to mentor and answer those questions our inquisitive members will have.
These questions extend even beyond freemasonry and to local culture, local history and heritage and indeed masonic and social etiquette. We aim to take our members on regular visits to other lodges to experience how other lodges conduct their meetings, their formalities, and their dining, so that no part of the spectrum of masonic experience is lost -and members know that they can chose a lodge that fits their own style if they move on to other countries and cities in the future.
Finally we encourage all of our members to have a go at the ritual and floor-work. We will support and encourage them to the extent that they are comfortable – whether it is one or two sentences – or whole ceremonies!
Why Join Us?
If you are studying or working at one of the local universities, or are of a younger age-group and wish to socialise with your peer-group, we will welcome you with open arms. We understand that you may move to a different city after your studies – and we will happily guide you and help you find a new masonic home at that time. If your stay in Coventry is only 1 or 2 years, don’t let that put you off.
We currently have members from many different cultures, religions and national heritage – and this diversity and shared connection is a comfort to many of our members on their masonic journey, and indeed in their social and personal life whilst in Coventry.
If you are more established in the Coventry area – and have current or former links to Universities or have an academic background – you are equally welcome – as we also need members who will be with the lodge for years to come.
The important link for all our members is a quest to learn and explore together on our different journeys.
We are a special interest Lodge
We are part of the UGLE “University Scheme” lodges – and we cater for those with an academic background, especially those with a connection to the local Universities, namely Coventry University and the University of Warwick. However, our membership is not restricted to these criteria.
