About us
St Augustine’s is a friendly Lodge that has been in existence for over 100 years, having been consecrated in 1914 and taking our name from St Augustine’s Church, Edgbaston. Our ethos is based on the principles that Freemasonry must be fun, enjoyable, productive and caring without determent to the core principles and history of the organisation.
We welcome and positively celebrate the diversity of our membership, irrespective of age, race, creed and sexuality and, in recognition of the fact that our younger Brethren will be responsible for the ongoing vitality and future success of our Lodge, we positively support their Masonic development and actively embrace their views and ideas on the way forward.
We pride ourselves in supporting a wide range of Masonic and non-Masonic Charities, providing assistance to both our fellow masons and their families, as well as those in need in our area and country wide.
We recognise that what our members get out of their Masonic activities, is amply rewarded in proportion to the effort they put in, and it is a constant source of collective pleasure to witness the fulfilment that members gain from their active participation in our Ceremonies and other Masonic activities, including our social events and charitable initiatives.
We endeavour to hold several social events throughout the year, to allow members wives, partners and families to join in and to help raise funds for charitable causes.

As a relatively small lodge we offer our members the individual support they need to progress at the pace that suits them. We have a comprehensive Mentoring system in place and a good mixture of ages and experience within our lodge.
Above all we are a friendly lodge that enjoys and encourages active participation and personal growth.
WHAT A NEW MEMBER CAN EXPECT.
New members are fully supported from the moment they express an interest in joining. Each candidate is guided through the process by an experienced mentor, ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and confident at every stage.
Progression through the degrees is never rushed, allowing members to develop at a pace that suits their personal circumstances.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal Candidate is open minded and inquisitive about Freemasonry and in growing themselves as a person. He should also be someone who would like to build a wide circle of friends and positively contribute to the work of our Lodge and the wider community.
Someone who is willing and able to give their time and commitment to attend evening meetings, rehearsals and functions and commit themselves to helping and supporting others.
