£2,000 Donation from Warwickshire Freemasons helps fund ambulances for Ukrainian frontline

We are all aware of the struggles in Ukraine and the need for support.

Freemasonry has given both at national level and from the Province of Warwickshire. However, the need continues to grow and to try to give the help where it is most needed the province is again donating by giving £10,000 in support of the purchase of ambulances. The ambulances are mostly ex NHS and are bought at auction for around £7,000 each. Our donation of £2,000 per ambulance will help with the purchase of five ambulances the first of which has been delivered.

Each ambulance is packed with medical supplies and driven by volunteers such as Pal Sanghera of Lodge of Jurisprudence to a location in Poland. Pal is part of a team that take turns in driving as the trip takes three days. On arrival they are met by Ukrainian service personnel who then drive them to the front in Eastern Ukraine.

These vehicles are subject to intense hardship often picking up wounded soldiers at night to avoid detection more often than not on terrain that is not paved. Not the type of roads they are designed for. They are vulnerable to attack and placed under intense mechanical stress. But each ambulance delivered is helping to save lives.
