Warwickshire Installed Masters Lodge celebrated two significant appointments at its meeting on Friday 28th September.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement and investiture of David Shakeshaft as the new Deputy Provincial Grand Master for Warwickshire, following the retirement of David Butcher from the role. The Head of Warwickshire Freemasons, Philip Hall, warmly thanked David Butcher for his years of exceptional service, including his instrumental work in bringing together two major charities to create the Warwickshire Freemasons Charitable Foundation.

The meeting also saw Matthew Perkins appointed and invested as an Assistant Provincial Grand Master, adding further strength and experience to the Provincial leadership team.

In addition to the formal appointments, members enjoyed a short presentation by Dennis Freshwater on his experiences as an army surgeon in Bastion and Basrah, and the important work of Fisher House, which provides vital support and accommodation for families of servicemen and women receiving medical treatment in the UK Armed Forces.

The evening concluded with a fundraising effort that raised £800 for the Coventry Freemasons pantomime, which supports children with special educational needs and disabilities, along with their carers.
