A Proud Family Occasion at Holy Well Lodge 9437
Holy Well Lodge No. 9437 hosted a truly memorable installation meeting on 28th May 2025, welcoming 56 brethren and visitors for what was a deeply personal and joyous occasion. The evening marked the continuation of a unique family tradition, as Herbie Jhita had the honour of installing not one, but both of his sons as Worshipful Master in consecutive years.
Following a successful and well-regarded year in the Chair, Avnash Jhita handed over the gavel to his younger brother, Bhavan Jhita, who was installed by their proud father in a heartfelt and dignified ceremony. The sense of occasion was enhanced by the warmth and camaraderie in the room, with plenty of light-hearted moments — not least the friendly sibling rivalry as each son playfully tried to prove he was Dad’s favourite or had drawn the larger crowd of supporters!
What shone through most clearly, however, was the evident pride Herbie felt for both of his sons, and the affection and respect shared among all three. This (and last year’s) installation was delivered with sincerity and care, reflecting both Masonic tradition and the strength of family bonds.
The Jhita family’s ongoing contribution to the life of Holy Well Lodge has been a source of encouragement and positive spirit, helping to strengthen the Lodge.
The evening was a celebration not only of new leadership but of the enduring legacy and fellowship that define Freemasonry. It was, in every sense, a night to remember.
