Seven Warwickshire Masons Raise over £3,300 Abseiling for Birmingham Children's Hospital

Seven members of the Forest of Arden Lodge No 3826 plus two willing volunteers abseiled over seven stories at the Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham last Saturday, in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The seven included their youngest initiate aged just 19 years, their Worshipful Master, Treasurer, and senior Past Master, at the tender age of 63!

The team smashed its target of £1,700, raising over £3,300 as part of a day long effort involving 84 people in a number of groups and the day itself raised over £40,000. The Forest of Arden masons were delighted and exhilarated at the result, and accordingly headed straight to the pub to celebrate.

You will be pleased to hear that no-one was hurt (or vomited) during this wonderful event!

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity believes there’s always more they can do for sick children and that’s why they strive to do more for their patients and families. It’s their mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use the hospital.
