Urgent Appeal: Help Deliver Life-Saving Aid to Ukraine
In early 2025, Simon Abel, a retired Fire Service Officer from Allesley Park in Coventry and a Freemason with The Charterhouse Lodge No. 5690 in Warwickshire, will join a dedicated team of volunteers on a mission of urgent humanitarian aid. Together with the Driving Ukraine team, he will travel 1,318 miles across seven countries to reach Lviv, Ukraine, over three days. Their convoy of 4×4 vehicles will be loaded with critical medicines, medical equipment, and supplies that will make a real difference on the front lines, helping save lives in a war-ravaged region.
This mission will be the 35th trip the Driving Ukraine team has completed since March 2022. For this essential work to continue, they rely on community support to supply the vehicles that transport these life-saving resources. Simon is reaching out for your help.
Who Will Benefit from Your Support?
Their donated vehicles and aid directly support:
- Foreign and Ukrainian volunteer medics and paramedics working on the front lines
- Humanitarian bomb disposal teams
- Combat medics
- Ukrainian hospitals
- Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) medical teams and services
Each vehicle costs between £4,000 and £6,000 to acquire and prepare. This includes vehicle servicing and the installation of top-quality off-road tires. Once delivered, these vehicles go to Lviv Volunteer Auto Service, a workshop supported by the local government, to ensure they are fit for critical missions.
How Your Support Saves Lives
These vehicles play a vital role in medical evacuations, transporting injured military personnel and, when necessary, civilians to emergency care and hospitals. Your financial support will go directly toward securing these life-saving vehicles and getting them to those in need.
How You Can Help
Would you be willing to donate or sponsor this mission? Any amount can make a difference, and sponsorship opportunities allow for recognition of your generosity, if desired, on the vehicle itself, across social media platforms, and potentially in both local and national press.
This mission is of utmost importance, and your support could directly help save lives. Thank you for considering this appeal.
