The recent meeting of Leigh Chapter was a very happy one.  The previous convocation, held on the second day of 2026, seemed a very long time ago and there was some serious catching up to do.  As it was the installation meeting, the companions were delighted to welcome the Provincial team headed by one of their own, EComp Geoff Walker, as the Presiding Officer.  He was most ably assisted by EComps Neil Murray & Alan Harwood, all under the careful direction of the escorting ProvAGDC, EComp Hardip Ubhi.

This meant that the Three Amigos – aka EComps Geoff Walker, Neil Murray & Leigh’s SE Mike Hogarth – were re-united.  So named because they are stalwarts of the set up for the Annual meeting of Provincial Grand Chapter, although they should perhaps now be described as the Three Grand Amigos!!

The meeting signified the end of a great year for the elder statesman in the Chapter, EComp Edwin Maitland, who naturally played a key part in a fabulous ceremony.  It was particularly noted that all three Principals, EComps Neil Johnson, Rich Pinner and Andy Grove, were installed into their respective Chairs – quite a rarity these days.

The splendid evening continued with a delightful Festive Board and the usual scrummy Severn Street fayre.  The cherry on top proved to be a marvellous donation of £150 to the Tercentenary Appeal.  So, Happy Birthday Leigh Chapter – you’re in for a great year.
