Members of Holy Well Lodge No 9437 asked the Worshipful Master, W Bro Matt Markham, if the Charity Collection at their meeting on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 could be for the Province’s Turkey and Syria Earthquake appeal, to which he readily agreed.

They particularly wanted to have it at this meeting because they were so moved when they witnessed the desperate plight of the earthquake victims every day on the national television news they wanted to help them as soon as possible with a donation from the Lodge, in addition to their own individual donations.nnFollowing an impassioned appeal from the Charity Steward, the brethren rose to the occasion and donated a total of £345.00, including Gift Aid.nnThe meeting was the Passing of Bro Charley Glynn, the ceremony being conducted by Past Masters of the Lodge, as per the usual custom for their February meetings.nnThe Lodge has a membership of 35 with a good mix of 20 Worshipful Brethren and 15 Brethren (which include 30 Master Masons, 3 Fellowcraft and 2 Entered Apprentices) with a candidate for the March meeting.nnThe founders of the Lodge formed a Tavern Lodge, one of their main criteria, in 1991 and it initially met at the Stoneythorpe Hotel in Southam, but that changed hands and the Lodge relocated to the Blue Lias Public House and Restaurant at Stockton, near Southam, in 2010.nnCircumstances changed in 2018 and the Lodge moved to its current location at the Millstone Hare Public House and Restaurant at Dallas Burston Polo Club, Southam.nnVisitors are assured of a warm welcome, as one would expect from a Tavern Lodge, and many return time and time again.
