About us
St Augustine’s Chapter has been in existence since 1927 and will be celebrating its centenary in 2027, a truly momentous occasion. We are a small, friendly, Chapter with the belief that Masonry should be fun and enjoyable without detracting from the fundamentals and core values of the Fraternity. To that end we like to keep our meetings light-hearted whilst maintaining the seriousness of the ceremonial aspects.
The majority of our membership come from St Augustine’s Lodge, but we welcome and positively encourage candidates from other Lodges who are looking to expand their Masonic Circle and contribute to the success and future of the Chapter.
We meet 4 times a year, on the last Wednesday of February, April and October and the 2nd Wednesday of December. We endeavour to hold several social events which are usually run in conjunction with the Lodge at which family and friends are encouraged to attend and help to raise funds for the various Charitable causes we support both local and national.
Why Join Us?
As a relatively small Chapter we can offer the individual support that each member needs to enable them to progress at a pace that they are comfortable with. We have a mentoring system in place to support this and a good mixture of ages and experience within the Chapter.
We are a friendly Chapter that enjoys and encourages participation without pressure, where you can further your personal growth and form many new and lasting friendships.
Ideally, we are looking for new members who are eager to find out more about Freemasonry, willing to take an active role in the Chapter and contribute to its’ future success.
