Warwickshire Freemasons donate a further £7,000 to local charities

Warwickshire Freemasons have recently shown their ongoing commitment to local community welfare by donating a total of £7,000 to three deserving charities in June 2025: £1,000 to Spencer’s Retreat, £1,000 to Children’s Storehouse and £5,000 to The Warwickshire Mark Benevolent Fund and EGO Arts. This support highlights the organisation’s dedication to enhancing mental health, promoting creativity, and assisting families and children in need across Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

Supporting animal-assisted therapy at Spencer’s Retreat
Spencer’s Retreat, a six-acre farm in Berkswell near Kenilworth founded in 2017, provides a welcoming environment for children and adults with disabilities through its unique farm-based activities. Warwickshire Freemasons have donated £1,000 to the retreat, a contribution described by a spokesperson as “incredibly beneficial” due to its positive impact on the farm’s daily operations and the overall experience for visiting families.

Supporting families via Children’s Storehouse
Children’s Storehouse is a family-focused charity based in Solihull providing essential items, such as clothes, toys, and baby equipment, to families in financial difficulty. The £1,000 donated by the Freemasons will directly support the purchase of everyday essentials, aiming to ease hardship and ensure that children receive the support they deserve in crucial formative years. Their motto is Clothed with dignity.

Cultivating creativity with EGO Arts
The Mark Master Masons Benevolent Fund has received £5,000 from which they have supported EGO Arts, a local arts charity, offers creative workshops aimed at empowering young people, adults, and families through expressive arts. The grant from Warwickshire Freemasons will bolster their core programmes over the coming year. These structured sessions deliver vital mental health benefits, particularly for individuals experiencing social isolation, by encouraging artistic exploration and personal expression in a community setting.

This round of charitable giving reflects the Warwickshire Freemasons’ broader philanthropic mission, channelled through their newly established Warwickshire Freemasons’ Charitable Foundation. Having merged their charitable funds into a single administrative structure in mid‑2024, they have since allocated over £200,000 to more than 150 local causes during the 2023–24 year and are set to donate over £600,000 in 2025. Their ongoing generosity continues today, with investments in mental health, social inclusion, child welfare, and community development.

In a statement, The head of Freemasons in Warwickshire, Philip Hall remarked on the focus of their giving: “These grants are tailored to charities working at the grassroots level. Whether through farming therapy, the arts, or essential family support, our aim is to empower and uplift those in our communities.” This recent trio of donations exemplifies the positive impact of targeted, local philanthropy—proving that even modest grants can make a meaningful difference in vulnerable lives.
