Warwickshire Freemasons Help Keep Ambulances Moving in Ukraine

Warwickshire Freemasons continue to support the people of Ukraine with our latest donation of £2,000 for each ambulance that the Belveder CIC Charity, based in Royal Leamington Spa, purchase and send to Ukraine. Each ambulance is acquired by the charity at auction for around £6,000 to £7,000 and loaded with medical supplies donated by other charities then driven, for three days, by volunteers to Poland, where they are handed over to the Ukrainian authorities. We have now helped to deliver three of the five ambulances we have committed to help fund.

The picture is of Dawid Kozlowski (Belveder CIC) and Minister- Counsellor Eduard Fesko (The Ukrainian Deputy Ambassador to the UK), Jerzy Boczkowski (Dharge d’affairs ad interim Embassy of the Republic of Poland) receiving the cheque from Andy Staker (Provincial Grand Charity Steward).

The day to day work of the vehicles then takes on a completely different roll to that in their former life. They are used to pick up wounded soldier and civilians often injured in very remote locations where there are no paved streets so the ambulance takes a massive pounding while crossing this challenging terrain. They are also working in very dangerous conditions are often subjected to military attack and sustain extreme damage.
