Warwickshire Freemasons Support Local Charities with Generous Donations

The Annual Presentation of the Warwickshire Freemasons Charitable Foundation (WFCF) took place on Thursday, 17th July, at Edgbaston Golf Club in Edgbaston. The event was led by Philip Hall, Head of Freemasonry in Warwickshire, who presented cheques to 26 charities from across the region.

The donations supported a diverse range of causes, including hospices, homeless shelters, air ambulance services, youth clubs, crisis centres, mental health counselling, veterans’ support, medical research, breast cancer initiatives, and cerebral palsy organisations.

During his address, Philip Hall expressed deep admiration for the dedicated individuals behind these charities. He praised their selfless commitment, often under challenging circumstances, to helping those in need. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the Warwickshire brethren for their tireless fundraising efforts and generous contributions, which made the event possible. Philip Hall emphasized how honoured he felt to present the cheques on behalf of the Province.

The 26 donations are the first in a series of over 150 planned presentations, with total contributions exceeding £200,000 — all raised by the WFCF.

A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of a £5,000 cheque to Lieutenant Colonel Davies, representing Fisher House. This organization is the chosen charity for the Warwickshire Tercentenary 2028 Appeal, which supports injured service personnel and their families. Philip Hall noted that the appeal continues to gather momentum and reinforces the Freemasons’ commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.

Additionally, a £1,000 donation was awarded to Neil Noble of Shakespeare Hospice. This contribution came as a result of a charity draw held during a July open evening at Alderson House for prospective new members. The hospice was nominated by Mr. David Shilvock.

These donations underscored the Freemasons’ enduring dedication to charitable giving and community support across Warwickshire
