Mike Gibbs Gets His 50-Year Certificate

W. Bro Mike Gibbs a member of Knowle Lodge for 50 years was presented with a 50 year certificate on Monday 28th of October 2024.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master for Warwickshire, W. Bro Peter Clarke gave the presentation on behalf of the province.

Mike, who was born in 1942, where he lived with his family in Hall Green Birmingham. After passing his 11+ he attended Moseley Grammar School gaining 6 ‘O’ levels and 4 ‘A’ levels.

A very keen sportsman, Mike captained the 1st 11 rugby team as well as the 1st 11 cricket team, not stopping there he joined the school’s athletic team.

After leaving school he became a student electrical engineer at the MEB then went on to join the family electrical contracting firm.

His masonic career which commenced with his initiation in Knowle Lodge as an entered apprentice in 1974, Mike progressed through the offices and became master of the Lodge in 1988. During his period of senior warden, he was lucky enough to meet the grand master who was officiating at an event in Birmingham.

Although he moved to the North West of England with his wife Pauline a few years ago to be near his family he retained his membership of Knowle Lodge 8001.
