Faced with the encouraging position of having five Entered Apprentices, Guys Lodge No 395 in Warwickshire rose to the challenge by throwing themselves into adapting the Ceremony of Passing to accommodate three committed young Entered Apprentices.
WBro Ricky Davies ProvAGDC, said, “we had three objectives, to provide a personally moving ceremony for the candidates, a stimulating ceremony for the brethren and to share the fun with as many brethren and visitors as possible”
The ceremony was started in fine form when WBro Peter Clarke APGM, who was attending in his private capacity, was persuaded to open the Lodge.
W.Bro. C Lovegrove PProvGSwdB then took the chair and the ceremony progressed to excel on all three objectives.
After the ceremony one of the candidates exclaimed “it was one the best of evenings”,
Peter Clarke APGM noted ‘Guys delivered a truly perfect piece of masonic choreography you simply had to witness” and David Macey PPGM thanked the Lodge ‘for the privilege of being there’.
The special evening was enjoyed by 37 brethren from a number of Lodges and was followed by a wonderful festive board] in the recently refurbished Victoria House at Leamington Spa.
50th Certificate
The Lodge now moves straight into a presentation of a 50 year Long Service award to WBro Colin Lovegrove on the 8th April
and, following the summer recess, will be ‘relaxing’ by rolling out their adapted ceremonyfor a double passing in October!
All visitors are most especially welcome to both evenings.
