Brother Andrew Williams having relocated to Rugby from Derbyshire where he was a member of Amadeus Lodge No 9539, approached Provincial Grand lodge about the availability of local lodges. One of his first suggested contacts was W Bro John Illingworth the secretary of the Lodge of Rectitude who is also Zerubbabel in the Chapter of Rectitude.
Bro Andrew stated he was also interested in joining the Royal Arch, and after attending a lodge meeting where the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Ex Comp David Graham he present, he was duly invited to join The Chapter of Rectitude No. 502. This gave The Chapter of Rectitude’s recently installed Excellencies their first opportunity to deliver the Exaltation ritual at the last meeting before the summer break on 18th April 2024.
All the work was split between their Excellencies, Principal Sojourner and 1st & 2nd assistant sojourners. Ex comp Les Twynholm of Composite Chapter No 5727, Rectitude’s sister chapter in Rugby, came off the bench to act as Principal Sojourner and almost stole the man of the match award for his very engaging delivery of the ceremony ritual.
