About us
We are a very friendly lodge that takes freemasonry seriously, taking pride in our ritual, but with good humour and conviviality. We are told by visiting brethren that our meetings are good fun and that they are warmly received. We are becoming a more diverse lodge with members from a number of different countries, all bound by the same masonic ideals and friendship, and we welcome new members wholeheartedly. Meeting at Severn Street Masonic Hall is very convenient for people living or working in Birmingham, and the quality of catering at Severn Street is excellent. Road and rail links are also good and a number of members travel a significant distance to join the lodge meetings each month.
Why Join Us?
We are the oldest lodge in the Province of Warwickshire, dating back to 1733 with our 300th anniversary fast approaching. We are a growing lodge and in recent times a significant number of younger masons have joined us, with more candidates just about to join in the next couple of meetings. We have a wonderful connection with a lodge in Frankfurt, Loge Zur Einigkeit, and a lodge in Lyon, Loge Lugdunum, and we are formally twinned with both lodges. We arrange regular visits to both those lodges and receive and entertain our French and German guests periodically. We also have formed a link in recent years with Fort William lodge no. 43 in Scotland and have had successful visits between the two lodges.
