About us

The Lodge of Faith & Hope is a friendly relaxed Lodge, and particularly care for the welfare of our Brethren and their families, as well as being fully supportive of a wide range of masonic and non‐masonic charitable activities, especially within Warwickshire & the West Midlands.
We like to feel that we deliver a high standard in our masonic ritual, whilst at the same time, taking care to ensure that all Brethren enjoy their Masonic activities. We believe that members should be able to participate to a level at which they are comfortable, without neglecting their business or family.
In common with many other masonic lodges, and other organisations, our Lodge has suffered at times from low numbers, but having recently attracted a good number of younger members, we believe we now have a healthy age range, which in turn will ensure that the Lodge will be able to enjoy a resilient and vibrant future.
As a Lodge, we are keen to preserve our traditions and ethos, whilst at the same time recognising the importance of embracing the views and needs of our younger Brethren, with the aim of achieving continuous improvement in our Masonic activities. Similarly, as a Lodge, we are keen to recruit new members who we believe will embrace our aims and objectives, and make a positive contribution to the future activities of the Lodge, and, in line with the fundamental principles of Freemasonry, we welcome and positively celebrate the diversity of our membership, irrespective of race and creed.
Thus we are keen to hear from applicants who wish to become Freemasons, and we take great care to clearly inform them of what is involved in joining the Lodge of Faith & Hope, as well as encouraging them to get to know us through our social functions, and Prospective Members Evenings, where they can be assured of a warm welcome. Please feel free to contact me should you be interested in Freemasonry with our Lodge.

Why Join Us?

The Lodge of Faith & Hope, which was consecrated in 1925, currently has 26 Subscribing Members, and meets at the Yenton Masonic Centre, Erdington, Birmingham. The current average age of our membership is 58 years, although, significantly, our five newest members have an average age of 39 years, and we hope to continue this trend. Our Membership covers a diverse range of backgrounds and occupations, including police officers, motor industry, gas industry, recruitment, and consultancy.
We hold six regular meetings per year, in preparation for which, we hold a minimum of six rehearsals. Our regular meetings take place on the fourth Tuesday in the months of January to April, October & November, and our Rehearsal meetings, a week or so beforehand. We also have a meeting of Past Masters and Officers, where the business of the Lodge takes place, which is usually held on the same night as the rehearsal. We also hold Lodge of Instruction sessions, where we learn more about Freemasonry, and practice how the various offices in the Lodge are properly carried out.
Our Regular Meetings are well supported by Brethren of the Lodge, and Visitors from other Lodges and, in particular, we enjoy regular and reciprocal support from our immediate family of Lodges, including our Daughter Lodge, the Lodge of Happiness No 7952.
In addition to our formal Lodge activities, and prospective Candidates Evenings, we hold social functions, including Ladies Dining after short meetings, and Summer Sunday Lunches, and other events when possible where Brethren and their families, together with prospective members, can enjoy each other’s company.
