About us

St Martin’s Lodge no. 4011 was consecrated in 1920 and was one of many lodges founded after the First World War, as former members of the armed forces looked for a way to recreate the camaraderie which they had enjoyed in the forces.  The lodge has been meeting continuously since that time.  It formerly met at the Clarendon Rooms on the Hagley Road, but on the closing of that building some years ago, moved to its present location at Severn Street Masonic Centre.

Why Join Us?

We are a friendly and welcoming lodge, and include among our membership several very senior masons who hold provincial and even grand ranks, and who are happy to share their friendship and knowledge. We have six regular meetings per year, in January, February, March, April, September and October, as well as a ‘Ladies to Dine’ evening, normally in November. We meet at Severn Street Masonic Hall, in Birmingham city centre, close to New Street railway station and we are fortunate to have access to a carpark. We do not have our own Lodge of Instruction, but members of St Martin’s Lodge are welcome to join the General Lodge of Instruction no. 587, which meets most Thursday evenings (apart from during the summer), also at Severn Street.
