About us
As a Lodge, we are keen to preserve our traditions and ethos, whilst at the same time recognising the importance of embracing the views and needs of our younger Brethren, with the aim of achieving continuous improvement in our Masonic activities. Similarly, as a Lodge, we are keen to recruit new members who we believe will embrace our aims and objectives, and make a positive contribution to the future activities of the Lodge.
Newer members are supported through an active Mentor programme and are encouraged to take full part in the Lodge and Provincial events.

Silhill Lodge No 4786 is a vibrant thriving Lodge focused on upholding the principals and traditions of Freemasonry, whilst at the same time enjoying ourselves and supporting local charities.
We have a diverse membership with members from all walks of life and parts of the local community. The older members are active and many have held senior office and key roles in a number of Masonic Orders and therefore have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share.
We try to deliver a high standard in our masonic ritual, whilst at the same time, taking care to ensure that all Brethren enjoy their Masonic activities. We believe that members should be able to participate to a level at which they are comfortable, without neglecting their business or family.
Having attracted a number of younger members, we believe we now have a healthy age range, which in turn will ensure that the Lodge will be able to enjoy a resilient and vibrant future.

Social events
The Lodge has always enjoyed a number of mixed events including an annual Ladies Night and Sunday Lunches where we celebrate our wives and partners, who have supported us throughout our Masonic year. The Lodge has a tradition of inviting the wives and partners to join the members at the Festive Dinner after the Lodge meetings in December where we have a traditional Christmas Party and also in April, where we have an enjoyable Old English Night! Other social events have included Snooker, Summer Lunches, Concerts etc.
