About us
The Lodge of Freedom was founded in 1919 at the end of the First World War, predominately by Jewellers from the jewellery trade in Birmingham. While there are still jewellers that are members, the Lodge is now made up of a range of professions.
Although we have had a few homes, it has always been a city centre Lodge and is now based in our original location at the Severn Street Masonic Hall next door to the Mailbox.
We are a small but very friendly, vibrant and active lodge always seeking new members to welcome into Masonry.
We meet four times a year on the evening of the Third Friday in September, October, January and March, but often get together on other occasions for informal events when our partners join us for social gatherings both during the summer and at Christmas.
We have mixture of ages including younger members who have joined us more recently and have an active program of ceremonies.
Our meetings are fun and exemplify the Masonic principles of Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service.
